Replicating virus-induced remodelling in cells, via loaded artificial cells and analyzing its effect on surrounding NIH3T3 fibroblasts. Cell dynamics will be observed and measured using time-lapse fluorescence microscopy. Furthermore, detailed information will be uncovered by image analysis and an in-house script.

During my master project I will study the influence of cell metabolism on the inflammatory/anti-inflammatory response by administering different drugs, targeting specific pathways in cell metabolism. The innate immune cells will be stimulated with both bacterial and viral signals and the cell responses will be measured both with flow cytometry as well as ELISA. Hopefully, I will gain a better understanding of cell metabolism within innate immune cells by performing experiments both in bulk and at single-cell level using droplet-based microfluidics.

Hi, I am Darshak. My research revolves around developing safer and more effective cancer virotherapy. In the Immunoengineering group, I am trying to understand the temporal dynamics of immune activation by oncolytic viruses at a single-cell level.
